Frequently Asked Questions
Is this sales/negotiation training?
No. Offer Freedom assumes you may already know how to sell, negotiate, diagnose and communicate value. It is concerned with what happens to that judgement when the outcome becomes consequential, and whether those capabilities remain available under pressure.
Does Offer Freedom mean holding your price or refusing to compromise?
No. Sometimes new information should change your position.
The distinction is between evidence and pressure. If the reality of the trade changes, your judgement may need to change with it. Moving isn't capitulation any more than holding your ground is automatically strength.
Is this coaching or therapy?
No.
We may examine beliefs, assumptions and what happens internally when a commercial decision becomes loaded, but only insofar as they are materially influencing the trade in front of us.
The work remains commercial diagnosis.
What if the diagnosis shows that I should change the offer — or not make one at all?
Then that's the outcome.
A Diagnostic may support your original position, change the scope or price, reveal another question that needs answering, or establish that there isn't a defensible trade.
The objective isn't agreement. It's cleaner commercial judgement.
Why do I need a Diagnostic if the Offer Freedom Lens is already here for free?
You may not.
Use the Lens. If it helps you make a better decision yourself, excellent.
The Diagnostic becomes useful when the decision matters enough that being inside the situation you're trying to observe makes assumptions, pressure or missing information harder to see.
The value of another person isn't that they possess your answer. It's that they aren't attached to it in the same way you are.
What happens in the 90-minute Diagnostic?
Bring one live commercial situation.
We'll examine what is actually happening, what you know, what you're assuming, what the other party appears to be buying, what responsibility is transferring, what pressure may be doing to your judgement, and what still genuinely needs to be known before the decision deserves or needs to be made.
The objective is a defensible next decision — including, where appropriate, making the offer, changing it, asking another question or deciding there isn't a trade.
Is the conversation confidential?
Yes.
What you bring to an Offer Freedom conversation is treated as confidential.
I will not identify you or your organisation, disclose the substance of our conversations, share commercially sensitive information, or publish findings attributable to you without your explicit permission.
I may draw on patterns and learning from the work to develop Offer Freedom, but only where they can be sufficiently anonymised that neither you, your organisation nor another party to the trade can reasonably be identified.
If a situation is distinctive enough that anonymisation cannot reliably protect those involved, I won't use it without permission.
Any testimonial, case study or identifiable reference to our work will be agreed with you before publication.
Confidentiality is subject only to circumstances where disclosure is required by law.
